Baseline Midvaal was born during COVID, a gathering of people who could no longer attend the church in Alberton due to lockdown restrictions. We did not wait for a building. We met in an open field. No stage, no sound system, just people hungry to gather in the name of Jesus.
From the field we moved to a small hall, and then found a home at the Lord Signature Hotel in Rissiville, where we gathered for three years, growing in depth and number. In 2025, God opened the doors to Fundamental High School, our current home and a space that reflects where we are heading.
"We did not start in a building. We started in a field. And that says everything about who we are."
In 2023, Pastors Paulus and Jaenelle Keys were ordained and took ownership of Baseline Family Church Midvaal as head pastors, committed to building something deep, lasting, and rooted in the Word here in the Midvaal region.
We believe in building strong and deep relationships. Our main mode of doing so is through BaseGroups: small groups meeting weekly in the homes of volunteers. We currently have 5 BaseGroups and are believing for more.
Our services are not rushed. We typically gather for approximately two hours because we believe praise and worship is a vital and necessary component of coming together as the church. We preach and teach the whole Word of God and do not shy away from the truth.
We do not have church members. We have partners: people who actively participate and steward the gifts God has placed in them. "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." — 1 Peter 4:10
